This research was conducted in 1999. While the list of reasons for homeschooling is likely to remain fairly constant over time, the percentages of parents homeschooling for each of those reasons may change as the social, cultural, institutional, and legal factors change. If similar research were done today, it may or may not yield the same sociological profile of parents who choose to homeschool.
