Bright Math Camp

"Currently held at Carleton University, this is a not-for-profit camp operated by Bright Math Camp Inc. for the promotion of mathematics. The Bright Math Camp represents a unique out-of-school learning opportunity for children with a drive to explore, to question, to reason, and to discuss a range of sound mathematical topics. These topics, demonstrably well suited to children's level and interests, derive from areas apart from the mainstream of school mathematics, and are introduced and developed from first principles. Our most successful topics have related numbers and numeration, arithmetic operations, number theory, combinatorics, informal geometry, probability and statistics, non-routine problem solving, and recreational cryptography."

For more details, see the Bright Math Camp website.

Centauri Summer Arts Camp

An overnight specialty camp located in the Niagara Region, Centauri provides a unique focus on the arts. Young people aged 8-18 choose from dozens of specialty arts programs taught by professionals, including theatre, film, dance, stage combat, improvisation, creative writing, art, design, photography and musical theatre. Campers live together in dorms, closely supervised by highly trained and caring camp counsellors, all of whom are over the age of 18. Centauri is a family run camp which aims to provide creative and academic learning opportunities within a supportive, caring and non-competitive environment. The camp welcomes young people from across North America and all over the world. Leadership programs are offered for older campers, and each August, as an additional learning opportunity, the camp runs an international tour to a writing retreat in England or Scotland for ages 13-18. The directors are happy to offer family visits to give prospective parents and campers the opportunity to meet them and discuss the camp's programs face to face.
