Benefits of OFTP membership
By joining the Ontario Federation of Teaching Parents, you enable
a collective voice for the homeschooling community in Ontario, and provide
support for the work OFTP does on behalf of
homeschooling families across the province.

To join OFTP, renew your membership, or unsubscribe your automatic payment, choose among the following options:
- Pay by cheque, mailed with your filled-out membership form:
- Pay by credit card or Paypal: please use one of the payment buttons below, according to whether you want to pay for 1 year or 3 at a time, and renew manually or automatically. Please fill out the form before clicking the button. Default volunteer areas are as follows (please indicate your main area of interest or expertise in the form, and communicate additional ones to the membership secretary by email):

Important Notes for paying by subscription:
By subscribing, you are giving your permission for PayPal to make an automatic payment to OFTP on your behalf, once every billing cycle (once a year or once every three years, according to the subscription option you chose) until you cancel your subscription.
To choose which source of funding PayPal uses (e.g. credit card, bank account, or PayPal balance), you must configure your subscription settings in PayPal. The OFTP cannot adjust those settings for you, it is entirely between you and PayPal.
To cancel the automatic payments, you can unsubscribe at any time before the next renewal date without affecting your current membership status.

OFTP is run entirely by volunteers like yourself. Whether you have lots of
time and energy or only a little to spare, there's something you can do to
give back to the community of OFTP homeschoolers and help keep our organization
strong and proactive. Find out where your help is needed and how you, too,
can volunteer for OFTP.
Benefits of OFTP membership
- Free advertising on the OFTP website for items relating to home-based
education (e.g. support group information,
meetings and events, curriculum
and other supplies)
- Free advertising on the OFTP website for your product
or service business. This is a way of sharing information about some
of the "work for income" some of our members do, often employment
from home which allows the family to home educate their children.
- Access to a variety of resource materials on home-based education,
books to read, legal issues, educational trends, current affairs, curriculum,
- OFTP Conference Discounts
- Access to OFTP email lists to network
and gain further information and resources now also available
- A membership card which can be used to obtain discounts from educational
suppliers and other businesses and organizations.
- Support and a voice for families who may not be part of a support
- Participation in a support system which is a strong advocate for
- Access to advice and liaison support in dealing with legal issues,
schools, school boards and various government departments
- For your children, access to the OFTP
Kids and OFTP Teens email lists,
where they can network with other homelearning kids of OFTP members, share
their ideas and interests, and make new friends
- For your children, the opportunity to contribute to and/or be published
on the OFTP Kids and OFTP
Teens webpages for the thrill of being published, the experience
of participating in a joint project, and/or something to add to their resume
(e.g. published articles/essays/stories or artwork, volunteer work contributions
in web design and website maintenance,...)
- For both you and your children, the opportunity to be published in print
in the newsletter for the thrill of being published and/or the addition
to a resume

Your membership status will be verified before providing you with members-only information. Make enquiries with businesses and organizations using your OFTP membership card and let us know if there is a willing supplier not yet listed.
